I embarked on a journey to the National Park El Boqueron, on a day that was as fair and bright as the promise of a new beginning. Accompanied by a local friend, we set off on the winding roads that led us to the park. The roads were a labyrinth of lush green hills, dotted with small farms and houses, each one more picturesque than the last. The air was thick with the scent of blooming flowers and the distant sound of cicadas filled our ears as we made our way deeper into the mountains. As we climbed higher, the vast volcano loomed in the distance, its presence both ominous and awe-inspiring. Upon arriving at the park, we were immediately struck by the natural beauty of the place. The park was a true oasis in the middle of the city. We walked through the paths and explored the different areas of the park, each one more picturesque than the last. We passed by waterfalls, lush vegetation, and different species of birds. The park was a natural wonder, and we couldn't help but feel a sense of wonder and awe as we looked around. The sun was high in the sky, and the heat was intense, but as we walked through the park, the trees provided us with a cool and refreshing shade. We stopped at several points to take in the views and admire the natural beauty of the place. We walked through the different paths, each one leading us to a new and exciting discovery. The sound of the waterfall, the birds singing and the natural breeze was a symphony to our ears. As we walked through the park, we came across a small artisanal sweets stand and decided to try some of the traditional sweets from El Salvador. The fried yuca with hot sauce was delicious and provided a satisfying contrast to the natural beauty of the park. The yuca was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, and the hot sauce was the perfect combination of spicy and tangy. As we ate, we sat on a wooden bench taking in the view and chatting with each other, enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the place. As the afternoon turned into evening, we decided to head back, but not before stopping at a restaurant on the mountainside for pupusas and horchata, traditional Salvadoran delicacies. The pupusas were made with fresh corn masa and filled with cheese, beans, and other delicious ingredients, while the horchata was a refreshing drink made from ground rice and cinnamon. As we sat there, savoring the delicious food and taking in the beautiful view of the city, we couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment and fulfillment. As we finished our meal and made our way back home, the sun was setting and the sky was painted with vibrant hues of orange, pink and purple. The drive back was just as picturesque as the journey there. We passed by small villages and towns, the streets were filled with people going about their daily lives. The warm glow of the setting sun made everything look even more beautiful. The journey to the National Park El Boqueron was truly a memorable one. It was a day filled with natural beauty, delicious food, and good company. It was a reminder of the simple pleasures in life and how sometimes, it's the small things that make a big impact on our hearts. It was a day that I will always treasure in my memories, and one that I will look back on with a sense of longing and reminiscence. You can see a small montage/reel here.
